Holliston, MA (September 2019). Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric), a leading electrical subcontractor throughout New England and the Southeast, is currently providing power distribution and electrical installation for Phase One of Corso Atlanta – a luxury senior living community in Atlanta, GA. Construction for the 464,000-sf project is expected to be complete by the last quarter of 2020.
Upon completion of Phase One, the new community will feature 204 of the 600 planned apartments, as well as development of most of the common areas. This initial phase will also include a full continuum of care, including units for independent living, assisted living, and memory care, in addition to “city homes” with private gardens and patios. The campus is expected to offer groomed courtyards, a movie theater, flower shop, library, salon, wine bar, sports bar, and several dining venues and bistros.
The Georgia Griffin team, under the leadership of Region Manager Marc McNair, is tasked with installing power distribution throughout the facility, along with lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, an Area of Rescue system, lightning protection, and a new 750kW generator. This work is spread out amongst six buildings, each having a different number of stories.
In addition to the Griffin Electric team, Gilbane Building Company is the construction manager, while THW Design of Atlanta is serving as the architect and Jordan and Skala Engineers of Norcross is working as the electrical engineer.
